On occasion, I like to share music from which I draw strength, wisdom and inspiration. Today is one of those occasions.

My faith in God is challenged every moment of every day. Sometimes those challenges stem from confrontations with those who do not share that faith. Frequently, it is the temptations of this world that put my trust in the Lord to the test. And, of course, troubles such as hunger, illness, death, depravity, hate, etc. lead us all, from time to time, to question God’s purpose. But the questions we should be asking are these:

“Who will I be
When trouble comes callin’ for me?
Will I live the way I believe
When I’m backed up against the wall?
What kind of heart do I have in my chest?
Does it beat for my Savior or just for my flesh?
What will I do in the moment that everything falls?”

Our answers to such questions have repercussions well beyond our own little life bubbles. I know my faith ensures God’s mercy and grace for my poor choices. Yet, I don’t want those poor choices to lead others astray. I always want to be obedient to His word and manifest the peace and joy I find in Him. In doing so, I desire to bring honor and glory to His Name – and give others reason to seek Him.

The right response to life’s trials is not always easy. Personally, I draw inspiration from scripture, from my brothers and sisters in Christ, and from prayer. Sometimes God’s answer to prayer is in the music to which He leads me. Here is one of my favorite tunes when feeling particularly challenged by the world.
