For many Christians, atheism is a concept quite difficult to understand – perhaps because we have rarely endeavored to do so. Yet we are commissioned to bring all to faith. Such understanding would be advantageous in efforts to fulfill that commission. This content is not intended to definitively explain the mindset of the atheist as I am incapable of doing so. But I speculate nonetheless.
Why Do Atheists Show Compassion Without God?
“All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12
“…if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it…” Acts 5:38-39
This Is NOT How to Bring an Atheist to Faith
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” 1 Peter 3:15-16
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.“ Romans 1:20
